Stunning and rare '82 Fullerton-made Bullet Bass from Fender.  This CBS-era guitar weighs in at 10.00 lbs fully-strung and has its stock pickups intact.  The bridge is a vintage Leo Quann Badass.  Interestingly, this does not have the “Deluxe” identifier on the headstock (nor have any decals been removed or tampered with), however it is the deluxe model due to the 34” scale length.  After that the Bullet went to Japan with a Squier branding and shorter scale.  The neck is beautifully lacquered Bird’s Eye Maple and looks fantastic.

Best of all, this bass has been fully and professionally set-up at world famous Eric’s Guitar Shop in Los Angeles.  As of May 2016, the Bullet has a clean bill of health, new-old-stock vintage strings (light oxidation spots), clean frets, oiled fretboard, and a complete diagnostic with intonation, 18/64 action, electric inspection, truss adjustment, neck alignment, the works.  This one sounds as good as the day it was made, or better!  Sold with 30-day guarantee; we are not happy until we know you are completely thrilled with your purchase.

Great sound from this one, sounds more like a P-bass than a lot of P-basses do, especially the more modern examples.  Compared with the vintage Precisions or Jazz, the PU's here are weaker but uniquer, these older split-coils are showing up all over the music landscape lately, either its the nostalgia or the desire for a more personal sound.  Whatever the case, they sound fantastic cranked up through a high-end amp.  Hollow, yet bouncy...almost like an acoustic bass...wonderful.  Of course there’s no humbucker so the high-mids are ample, and with the tone opened up you can get some trash tones, and that ain’t trash talking, this one is unique and it kills.  It does mellow for soul and blues as well.  But the neck is the real reason why these are becoming more sought after, it’s a somewhat thin jazz-width neck with a V profile.  It’s not for everyone, but those who know the feeling won’t find it anywhere else.  

Aside from the outstanding and vintage (but not stock) bridge, and the custom white semigloss coat, nearly everything here is original, certainly all the most important bits.  The pickguard and knobs are vintage and look fantastic, but are not orginal to the Bullet.  The paintwork really gives it a unique relic look, with the original metallic red worn through in many areas.  There are some general light scuffs and scratches, minor wear, but no damages or repairs.  If you look at the neck/body joint, you can see two diagonal surface fracture lines on the body, similar to clearcoat “crazing” lines.  These are not structural; the lines are present on the very top layer painted layer only.  The body wood does not have any issues or defects.  Adult owned and gigged.  The owner is a frequent LA area performer but prefers to remain anonymous.  Comes from a smoke/pet free indoor studio environment.

Overall this guitar is in excellent shape and is a flawless player.  A great example of USA craftsmanship, this Bullet sounds like P-basses worth triple the price, and has a unique feel and well-earned pedigree.  One of kind look and out of this world sound and quality; is this the one you’ve been looking for?
