Beautiful mid-90s (4XXX serial number) Tobias Growler 4. These are pretty tough to date but I believe it to be 94/95. 

Natural oil finish on swamp ash body with a 3 piece asymmetrical rock maple/bubinga/rock maple neck and a perro ferro fingerboard. This bass is light and balanced and a joy to play. 

Bartolini quad coil pickup with 18v preamp. Extremely flexible with many different sounds on board, this bass can cover all the bases.

The black hardware is shiny with no rust or pitting. Tuners turn freely and hold the tuning perfectly.  

Includes original custom form fitting Tobias TKL hard shell case and case candy (manuals, truss rod adjustment tool and strap locks). The case has some wear and the combination lock was broken. 

There is some minor wear on the body since it is an oil only finish (no lacquer at all) from wear my thumb would rest, some worming in couple places, etc. The neck is nearly perfect with no major indentations or gauges. The "Tobais" logo on the truss rod cover is wearing (very common). There is some bubbling on the headstock paint (also common). The original volume knob was lost and replaced with a different style knob. Overall I BABIED this bass. 

This is a pro level bass ready to gig with or take into the studio. I just set it up with new DR Low-Rider 45-105s, oiled the fretboard, polished the frets (which have virtually no wear since I almost always used flats), adjusted the action and set the intonation which is dead on. The action is fast, low and consistent up and down the neck with no buzzing.
