1979 Alvarez 5025 acoustic guitar ENGRAVED LIGHT SUNBURST Made in Japan MIJ

1979 Alvarez Model 5025 flat top acoustic guitar in a HAND-ENGRAVED LIGHT SUNBURST FINISH - Made in Japan - in overall very good condition, with blue lined vintage Vox-style hardshell case.  As is very well-documented by now, these Made in Japan Alvarez guitars are wonderful.  Great build quality, wonderful sound.  This is a very special Alvarez because it was hand-engraved by a father for his son on February 6, 1995.  On the lower treble side bout, near the neck heel, is the inscription;  'To Drew, From Dad - 2-6-1995'.  Every once in a great while, we get an instrument in the shop like this - something with great spiritual value because of its history.  Though we may never know the complete story, the story is evident and present nonetheless.  We are only permitted one dozen photos on this listing, so please contact us for additional and larger photos.  The engravings are best described as similar to the type one might find on an all metal Dobro guitar - lots of flowers, roses, leaves - and on the backside the name Drew is there, as well as a heart, and a sword.  The sides and back of the neck are engraved as well - as is the back of the headstock and the pick guard.  The original tuners have been changed to Grovers - which is a huge improvement - there are some small screwholes visible on the back of the headstock, as a result.  There are light scratches throughout, an some wear to the front of the headstock.  This may be a replacement bone nut - there is some wear near the nut slot, and a little bit of chipping in the headstock veneer.  There is a slight 'belly' between the bridge and the back end of the guitar - but not a huge deal - and the action is described as medium high.  She has a nice, round tone - very full and warm with nice articulation - and sounds great with that big G chord.  The action can possibly be lowered via the truss rod, and she does have an adjustable bridge saddle.  This is a very unique, one of a kind vintage Japanese Alvarez flat top - have not seen one like this before.  For sure, there are songs in this one.
