2002 Martin D-41 DF Dan Fogelberg D-41DF #53 Acoustic Guitar

Here's a Martin D-41DF Dan Fogelberg acoustic guitar, #53 of 141 produced.   The guitar has no cracks or repairs and is in very clean condition.  It has been very well cared for and is in near MINT condition.  The pickguard barely has a scratch.  It's a very solid 9.5 out of 10.

In May 2004, Fogelberg was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer. After undergoing therapy, he achieved a partial remission. On August 13, 2005, his 54th birthday, he announced the success of his cancer treatments. He said that he had no immediate plans to return to making music but was keeping his options open. However, his cancer returned, and on December 16, 2007, Fogelberg died at the age of 56 at his home in Deer Isle, Maine.  His ashes were scattered into the Atlantic Ocean.

Here's the factory specs:   2001 LIMITED EDITION - Dreadnought of Indian rosewood & select Sitka spruce with aging toner (like the standard D-28, braces are not scalloped), select green abalone top trim and rosette, ivoroid binding, ebony bridge with custom "Winter" snowflakes inlaid in bridge wings, white bridgepins with abalone dots, black pickguard, low profile neck, bound ebony fretboard with large hexagon inlays & Fogelberg's signature between 19th & 20th frets, 1 11/16" nut, 25.4" scale, bone nut & saddle, bound 45-style peghead with C.F.Martin block letter logo in select green abalone, gold Grover Rotomatic tuners. Geib style hardshell case. Inside label signed by C.F.Martin IV and Fogelberg and individually numbered with edition total - a total of 141 will be made.



Comes with the original Martin Geib style hardshell case.
