Manouche / Jazz  Guitar

Made in France  (Couesnon ? Patenotte ?) of all solid tonewoods  arround the beginning 1960s (maybe earlier)

- about 99cm total length, scale lenght 63cm
- solid quality spruce top with elaborate checkered wooden binding with black-white purfling rings and black celluloide binding. Gorgeous mosaic soundhole rosette made of multi coloured wooden squared pieces, with cellulode pickguard
- big tigerflamed all solid maple body and solid maple sides, lower bout 42,3cm (!), center bout 27,7cm, upper bout 30cm, sides` height 7,8cm-8cm
-  straight set maple neck with multiple reinforcement stripes, very nice birdsey maple headstock, high quality rosewood fingerboard , 17 frets + zerofret, pearl dot grip aids, original bone nut, width at nut 50,5mm
- original quality coated brass tuners with handgraved tribals, large ebony pegs
- quality rosewood bridge with layed-on steel saddle
- steel tailpiece
- rosewood strap pin with parisian eye

The guitar is in age related very good condition and fully playable with good string action (3,5mm (E1) on 12th fret.
The bridge seems not to be original and was glued/reglued. The tailpiece is not original, too
On the right side, a damage  to the rib was repired/glued properly. To make the fingerboard straight and fully playable, the fingerboard was underlayed with a shimed piece of wood (mahogany ?) from the 12 th fret down
The shellac varnish is showing some harmless signs of the time (f.e laquer cracks and normal signs of wear)

The quality fingerboard is showing no signs of wear, The frets are without signs of playing, too, and were rounded & polished. The fingerboard was cleaned and oiled

With new 0.010 steel strings
