Gibson j-45 standard ~The Gold Standard
Tommy Emmanuel says this is the one. Any more questions are moot....
The J-45 is Gibson's best-selling acoustic of all time. Nicknamed "The Workhorse" and first introduced in 1942, this iconic acoustic has become the cornerstone of its round-shoulder, dreadnought line. World renowned for its full, balanced expression, warm bass and excellent projection, the 2016 J-45 has been refined to carry this legacy to new heights.
I know I would love this J-45 and I love the Vintage Sunburst finish too, picking out just the one I like the looks of the best.My first "Big" purchase in the world of guitars. I've been playing for 7 years and saving here and there for one that I loved. The J-45 is that guitar. Absolutely the best sounding acoustic I've ever played. If you're on the line thinking about it, just go for it and you'll love it. Sweet, mellow sound and just a joy to play, perfect finish
When she arrived my first impression was HOLY $ @**!!!! The fit, finish and quality was flawless!! I had to wait a few hours to play it as I live in a very cold climate and had to let it warm up.It was love at first strum. The action was set perfectly, nice deep tone for the lows and crisp clean highs. No offense to my dear Martin herd but this one is in a league of it's own. I am certain this is my stage guitar and the one that will be handed down for generations, I am absolutely thrilled with it in every way. I wish I could come up with something negative to give it a fair rating but can't, other than it has no top strap button which is common on most high end acoustics. I am NOT drilling a hole in her so will strap her the old fashioned way after I find the perfect strap to compliment it's beauty.I know there are more expensive Gibson's out there but just can't see how I can improve upon this. I have played the Hummingbird but this one is every bit it's equal.Oh, and the case candy that comes with this is so cool too, more than any other guitar I've purchased. Love the nice soft hard case as well.So. in short it is perfect in every way in my eyes....my search is over for "the one".
