Circa 1967 Ampeg AEB-1 electric bass RED/BLACK BURST scroll bass vintage 1968
VERY RARE OPPORTUNITY: Circa 1967 Ampeg AEB-1 electric bass 'Scroll Bass' - ONE OWNER!!! - in classic RED/BLACK BURST FINISH - in excellent and all original condition, with original blue-lined hardshell case, original Ace strap, and will also come with a still-sealed vintage Gospel record that this very bass was used to record on back in the early 70s. Serial number 625 - it is estimated only approximately 750 of these basses were made, TOTAL. This is a no-brainer: this bass has had only one owner since new, and she played it in church and on tour with her father - a Pastor - in their regionally successful Gospel group. It has only ever had one owner, til it came to us. It is in overall excellent and clean condition for its age; you will find the expected finish checking, some light scratches and dings, some finish chipping here and there and around the headstock - but that is all, very normal and minimal wear and tear. Frets have almost no wear, because probably only 3 notes were ever played on a regular basis. We will also include a still sealed record album that this Ampeg bass was recorded with - in fact, you will see the original owner photographed on the album, holding this bass. Super rare / super super cool. We are calling this circa 1966-1968 because these basses were only made for such a short period - we could confirm the date via the pot codes, but we know that this guard has never been taken off, and did not want to be the first to turn a screw. It's not often at all that a rare instrument like this comes to us from its original owner, but here it is. This is PERFECT for the collector who enjoys knowing the rich history behind an instrument. More photos available - call 859-261-5500 for an in hand description. We CAN ship overseas, but only via UPS due to the size of the box, and shipping will be expensive. Thanks.<p>
