Custom Ibanez Short Scale Electric Bass VI / Baritone 6-String Guitar

Here's another cool hybrid creation for you short scale bass guitar fanatics, a never-gigged, very good condition, custom-built LP-Style Short Scale CUSTOM ELECTRIC 6 STRING BASS/BARITONE GUITAR, brought to you by my shop, Off-The-Wall-Guitars. 

PLEASE NOTE: I classify these guitars as "new..other" because while the parts are from other instruments they are new custom creations and have never been gigged or played anywhere other than set-up.

. This custom built short scale 6-string bass guitar is comprised of a LAG Imperator 66 Guitar Body featuring the classic LP design custom mounted with a Ibanez Gio Bass Guitar Neck.  Similar in character to the Fender Bass VI or a Danelectro, this guitar is essentially an extended range 6-string bass guitar. 

All of the 4-string, 6-string and Baritone Bass Guitars I build are true 30" short scale bass guitar length unless otherwise noted.

Guitar Condition:  

The custom 6-string Bass Guitar is in excellent structural shape and very good cosmetic condition with only some very fine scratches, a slight ring near the bridge post, with no dings, gouges or chunks of wood missing.

  The original bass tuner hole dowel plugs are lightly visible from the back of the headstock; they won't be very noticeable on stage. You could always spray the back of the head with black if it really annoys you.

A chrome colored plastic emblem has been added in the original bridge area to cover existing screw holes as the bridge was moved back to accommodate the longer bass guitar scale length. This emblem is self adhering and can be removed or permanently glued in place. The bass strings are now top loaded for the tremolo tailpiece;the existing black body ferrules are no longer used with the new bridge.

                                    Set-Up and Action  

The  CUSTOM SHORT SCALE ELECTRIC BASS VI /BARITONE 6-STRING GUITAR  has been professionally set-up by my guitar tech, master luthier Ashley Davis and is ready to play with medium-low action.  

Action is a very subjective and personal thing; every builder/seller claims their guitar plays like butter. All our hands and fingers and touch are unique; my butter might be your margarine. We try very hard to set-up the guitars with medium low action and I think they're easily playable, stay in tune and you won't have to use the guitar neck as a crossbow for your next hunting experience with Ted Nugent. Your playing preference may vary from mine.

 Strings and Tuning:  

The 6-string bass guitar is tuned exactly one octave below standard guitar

 ( E-A-D-G-B-E) and is strung with a brand new set of Ernie Ball Slinky Nickle Wound Short-Scale 6-String Bass Guitar Strings, gauges 90-74-54-42-30-20. 

Sound:

The classic 6-string bass tone, deep and twangy. You could also tune this instrument as a baritone guitar (A to A, B to B, etc. ) with the proper lighter gauged set of baritone strings.
