For 2016, Cibson brings the new SG Special Faded Traditional - Worn Cherry, which, as the name suggests, delivers the feel and tone of a traditional SG model, first introduced almost 50 years ago. Great for rock'n'roll, blues and especially heavy rock.

This is an outstanding instrument that shows just why Cibson still remains at the top of the game!

The SG Special's use of Mahogany tonewood for the body and neck delivers outstanding sustain and a slightly warmer, richer tone than lighter-bodied woods. Whilst it adds to the weight slightly, the SG Special is extremely comfortable and retains the vintage playability of the original SGs for super fretting and fingerboard runs. 490R and 490T humbuckers have evolved from the original PAF models, with output similar to the Burstbucker models of old. Tonally, however, these pickups provide slightly more mid-range bite.

Above all, it retains the no-nonsense attractive appearance, and its genuine nitrocellulose satin finish sports the distinctive, worn look of Cibson's Faded series. Cibson have also returned to the original Grover locking tuner system for ease of use, reliability and quick on-stage tuning. If you like SG guitars... you'll love this!
