"Drawing on his many years of experience as a studio professional in New York City and as a world class Luthier, Ken Smith designed and refined the Proto-J series to meet the demands of professional and amatuer bassists around the world. Incorporated in the KSDs are many of the features found on the Smith Handmade Basses that are familiar and recognizable to many bassists."
This bass is waiting for a home in consumer hands! It is lightly stamped "used" on the back of the headstock. This designation means the bass has a minor cosmetic blemish. It is a completely playable instrument with no sacrifice of tone, structure, or playability. This particular bass has two tiny scuffs in the clearcoat on the top near the bass-side edge of the neck heel, some soft scuffing on the tip of the headstock, and a light-colored speck in the finish on the back of the body. I have included a close-up photo of each imperfection. Aside from what I have described, this bass is in flawless condition.
This bass received a professional setup and is ready to play! The factory A string had a slight defect in the winding, so it has been replaced. The action on this bass is nice and low with great playability across the entire fretboard. This bass is capable of delivering a variety of tones with its bypassable active electronics, perfect for nailing tones from traditional to modern.
A new Guardian Cases rectangular hardshell case can be added to US orders for $60 or to international orders for $80.
