The foundation of Martin's success has been in their range of dreadnought solidwoods, with a Sitka spruce top that offers big, bold rich tone harmonics without the weight issues of heavier woods. Solid mahogany back and side construction is the preferred choice by recording artists around the world - the tone is more defined and requires less processing than rosewood equivalents. The use of a solid Mahogany gives the D17M a rich tonal complexity with a gorgeous mid-low range depth - great for rhythm players.

Resurrecting the look of vintage Martin Style 17 guitars, the shaded mahogany dark wood body finish will age with grace along with its sound. The D-17 comes with a 345 Hardshell Case as standard.
