The 114CE is an electro-acoustic cutaway Grand Auditorium, arguably the most versatile and popular of Taylor’s guitar shapes. Its well-defined midrange contributes to a clear and balanced tone. It’s responsive enough for fingerstyle players and powerful enough for pickers and strummers to get a lively response. The 100 series guitars feature a slightly narrower 1-11/16-inch neck too, and combine this with Taylor's patented NT Neck Technology, it guarantees a winning formula for a superbly playable instrument.

In terms of tone, the 114CE uses the tried-and-tested Layered Sapele / Sitka Spruce tonewood combination. Not only is this lightweight and stiff, it remains true even with changes to humidity and environment. The single cutaway body offers additional access to the upper fretboard, and as the Sapele/Sitka tonewood combo offers a little extra sparkle to the tone, this may be the perfect guitar for lighter fingerpicking styles or more melodic players.

If using live, or fancy turning up the volume at home, the 114CE utilises Taylor's EST Expression electronic pickup system, so you can easily plug straight into a desk, DI or guitar amp. Tone and volume controls allow you to get the right balance in a live environment.
