Featuring a figured mahogany back and sides, Red Cedar Spruce top and a figured mahogany top edge trim, the limited edition Taylor 514E's added cosmetic touches add a sublime touch of class to an already-great instrument.

The Grand Auditorium body shape is traditionally used by both studio and live musicians, and serves as a great all-rounder for a variety of applications. The slightly-narrower waist and neck joint, compared to the bigger Dreadnought equivalents, makes it a bit more comfortable for the smaller player, and is probably Taylor's most versatile and popular guitar shape for this reason.

The Tropical Mahogany back/sides deliver a trademark rich, woody, dry tone favourable to players who want a more rootsy, earthy sound. A more exotic European Cedar Spruce top has been used for plenty of top-end bite, and allows the wood to breathe over time for a rich, organice sound for years to come. Cosmetically, the European Spruce offers a wonderfully rich, slightly figured top for a bit more aesthetic beauty than the standard issue series.

Taylor have also employed Boxwood “Avian” fretboard inlays to the FLTD model, and a gorgeous Mahogany rosette and top edge trim (note the lack of the scratchplate too!) give the 514E-FLTD a simplistic, subtle look that oozes sophistication. Furthermore, the Adirondack CV bracing and gold Gotoh tuners add the finishing touches to this special edition model.
